Father's Day by Virginia Wong

This weeks' challenge is Father's Day. In looking through my projects and photos, I realized an error that I will correct immediately! There are oodles of photos of my girls and what we do but very few of my husband. However we "see" him in their activities as he is one of their biggest supporters.

Last year we gifted him with this mini album. It was a beautiful tribute to him and what he means to the girls.

Supplies:  Urban Lily (mini album); American Crafts (alphas)

This year we have a collage in the works - I unfortunately cannot post it yet as the girls are STILL working on it!

I hope you celebrate Fatherhood with love and joy in your home this weekend!

Father's Day by Cari Locken

Hi there!

Just wanted to share with you a card that I made for Father's Day. I love that we have a day set aside to celebrate & remember our Dads.
I love my Dad so much and he has been my biggest supportive since I was young. He's tender, strong and wise. I play piano and went through all the Royal Conservatory grades. After I finished an exam, then waited for my grade to come back my Dad would take me out on a date. Just the 2 of us! I loved those times so much as it made me feel so special.

Anyways, here's a card that I made for my Dad.

I stamped the sentiment using Black Stazon ink onto a transparency. I used an oval punch at the lower right corner of my card. I then cut it out into a square shape and adhered it to the inside of my card. I then adhered a scalloped oval punch (after punching out the inside) around the oval cut-out edges.
Supplies used: Core'dinations cardstock, Fiskars Border punch, EK Success (oval and scalloped oval punches), ribbon (Making Memories), Stamp (myStampBOX), transparency, StazOn Ink (black)

Happy Father's Day!!

Happy Father's Day!!! by Virginia Wong

It's Father's Day! At our house, any "special" day is cause for celebration, cake and some chaos! LOL Here is a mini album/card that we made for my husband and Daddy to two sweet girls!

And here is the mini album. The mini album is from Urban Lily as are all the pattern papers that were used to simply accessorize the already beautiful album pages.

What I love the most of this album is the pull out pages that allow you to privately share journaling/thoughts/words to the recipient. And you can also slip a gift certificate for a loved one into one of the pockets!

Here are a few pages from my album.

I am so glad I had my girls use their handwriting on the pages and when they get older, I know that I will cherish those sweet letters.

Thanks for dropping by! And a big Happy Father's Day to you and the men who have played a fatherly role in your life.

Father's Day - by Cari Locken

I love celebrating my dad and my kids love doing the same for their day. But don't ya think that sometimes the hoopla for Mother's Day is so much more? I don't get it. I know in our family my husband is both an amazing dad and husband. He loves our children & does so much with them and they just adore him. We're not planning to do anything big but we are having a nice lunch with my side of the family and just hanging out for the day.
Our middle one made a book for him at school and I actually snuck a peek at it the other day when I was putting it in a "secret" place. Oh my! It made me cry. It was straight from the heart.

The kids helped me make this small gift for their dad as he loves chocolate covered raisins. We were going to get some golf tees as well but I ran out of time before this post. We may still get to that before Sunday though.

Supplies: Imaginisce "Live Loud" collection (paper, ribbon, chipboard), Scenic Route chipboard "u", Making Memories alpha stickers

And this layout is about my dad. I love him and I'm so thankful that he's my dad.

Supplies: Heidi Swapp patterned paper & chipboard crown, American Crafts thickers, Making Memories letter stickers

and this layout (I created a while ago) is about my hubby. I love how the kids admire him so and want to be just like him (... in some way)

Supplies: Core'dinations cardstock, twine, Cuttlebug embossing folders, Stampin' Up punch

And here's an album that I made last year for a class that I taught.

Just a few of the inside pages.

I hope that you are able to enjoy being with your father and celebrating him.
Happy Father's Day to all the dad's out there!
